From the 1st to the 3rd of April 2019, San Sebastian (Basque Country region in Spain) will be the venue chosen to host the most prestigious International Conference on Integrated Care in Europe.
Each year, this conference gathers researchers, health professionals and management teams from over 50 countries around the world, dedicated to offering the best provision of integrated care and social care services both in the public and private spheres. Every year this conference becomes an opportunity to exchange experiences, projects and evidence on integration from different perspectives. Innovation and integrated solutions in public healthcare and socio-health care, eHealth through the use of new Information and Communications Technologies, change management, patient empowerment or patient participation in decision-making are some of the subjects worth highlighting, among others.
For the 19th edition, the overarching theme will be “A shared culture for change: Evaluating and implementing models of integrated people-centred services”. Thus, under this slogan, the following topics will be addressed: integrated health and social care for people at home; Engaging and empowering people and communities to become equal partners in care; Creating shared cultures, norms and values across organizations, professionals and people; Building a stronger integrated primary care; Models of care for people; Defining measures and outcomes that matter to people; and finally Impact of Digital Health.
The conference will be organized by Osakidetza (the Basque Public Health Service), Bioef (Basque Foundation for Health Innovation and Research), the Ministry for Health of the Basque Government, the City Council of Donostia-San Sebastian and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa. The conference will take place at the Kursaal Congress Centre and Auditorium of San Sebastián.
